Repair a Damaged PDF Online, Free
Try to rebuild a file that will not open
🔒 No upload • No account • No watermark • Runs in your browser
Repair PDF tries to recover a PDF that is damaged, for example after an interrupted download or a faulty copy. It first rebuilds the file structure. If that is not possible it re-draws each page as an image.
How to use Repair PDF
- Open the tool and choose the damaged PDF.
- Press Repair PDF.
- Read the note under the result to see which method worked.
- Download repaired.pdf and check every page.
Features
- Rebuilds the structure while keeping text and quality when it can.
- Falls back to page images when the structure cannot be read.
- Reports pages it could not recover.
- Runs on your device.
Good to know
- This is a best-effort tool. Files that are cut off, encrypted or badly corrupted may not be recoverable.
- If the fallback is used, the text in the result is no longer selectable.
Questions and answers
Will it always work?
No. Light damage, such as a missing index at the end of the file, is often fixable. Severe damage usually is not.
Why is my repaired file larger or its text not selectable?
The fallback method draws each page as a picture, which is bigger and has no text layer.
Is my damaged file uploaded?
No. Repair runs inside your browser.
Privacy
This tool runs inside your browser. Your file is read into your device’s memory, processed there and handed back as a download. It is not sent to a FirePDF server. You can test this by switching off your internet connection after the page has loaded and running the tool again. Read the Privacy Policy and the Security page for details.
